Took the last of four Open Championship places up for grabs at the Japan Tour's Mizuno Open, after starting the week ranked 610th in the world.

De Los Santos shot a closing four under par 68 to take the last of the spots – and that after being down in joint 55th place after the opening day.

“It’s an incredible opportunity for me – my first time playing in a major,” he said. “It will also be my first time to Europe and should be fun. St Andrews is a special place with a lot of history – it will be awesome to play there.”

Had his first professional success in Japan in 2019, although that was on the Abema TV Tour.

Born in California, but plays under the Philippines flag and has a second degree black belt in the Korean martial art tang soo do. Attended California Poly, majoring in graphic communications.
