Played in the 2015 Masters after finishing runner-up to Gunn Yang in the previous year’s U.S. Amateur Championship and in 2019 was back at Augusta National thanks to his first PGA Tour victory the week before in the Valero Texas Open.

Conners was in that event only because he won a six-man play-off in the Monday qualifier, making him the first to triumph on the circuit after coming through an earlier stage since Arjun Atwal in 2010.

Conners’ Open Championship debut followed at Royal Portrush after a rise into the world’s top 100 from 677th at the start of 2018.

He twice represented Canada in the Eisenhower Trophy World Amateur Team Championship, finishing runners-up to the United States in 2014 when Spain’s Jon Rahm was the leading individual.

In March 2018 he led the Valspar Championship with a round to go, just ahead of Tiger Woods, Justin Rose and Brandt Snedeker. He was second to Cameron Champ at the 2018 Sanderson Farms Championship and his third place at the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational lifted him into the game’s top 50 for the first time.

He has three top-10 finishes in The Masters, tied for 15th at Royal St George’s and was third at the WGC-Dell Match Play in 2022.
